Making progress Facing Dementia Together

Australian Dementia Action Week runs from 15 – 21 September this year. It’s been a few months since we partnered with the Sydney University Facing Dementia team. Our Care finder team has been actively involved the Facing Dementia Together project, an important research project aimed at breaking down the stigma associated with talking about dementia in non-English speaking communities.

This is a campaign we’re passionate about to increase timely diagnosis of dementia. Since May we’ve been involved in community talks, been part of community events, and even featured on SBS radio.

Our campaign messages and corresponding resources are:
Know the signs, ask a GP – Checklist of signs of dementia
Know the risk factors – Brain health tip sheet
Myths and facts about dementia
• Benefits of a dementia diagnosis, keep everyone connected – What to do after dementia diagnosis
