The Australian Government has announced changes to personal care under the Support at Home Program.
From 1 October 2026, personal care will move to the Clinical Supports category. This means eligible clients who have personal care approved in their support plan, and have enough funding available, will be able to receive personal care with no out-of-pocket cost.
Multicultural Care is honouring this affected change as of June 2026. If this change applies to you, we will work with you and your family to review your care plan and help you understand what it means for your services and budget.
Personal care can include help with showering, getting dressed and non-clinical continence support. These services help people stay safe, healthy and well at home.
If you already have personal care approved in your Support at Home plan, we can help you plan for this change. If personal care is not approved in your plan yet, we may need to request a Support Plan Review and wait for written approval before your funding can be used for this service.
From 1 July 2026, Multicultural Care Support at Home service prices will change in line with industry standards. Clinical care services will continue to have no out-of-pocket cost for eligible clients.
